Fight against social evils to fulfill dreams: Apang

Itanagar, Sep 21 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang called for making collective efforts to contain corruption and fight the onslaught of social evils in order to realise the dreams of a golden India.

Inaugurating the Swarnim Bharat Yuva Padayatra 2006 being organised by the youth wing of local Rajyoga center of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya (PBKIVV) and Rajyoga Education&Research Foundation (RERF) here yesterday, Mr Apang stressed on the need to transform thoughts into action by discussing ways and means for bringing about necessary transformation in the society.

Exhorting the youths to shoulder the responsibility for building a strong India by discarding vices and imbibing discipline for gaining required mental strength to overcome the challenges facing the society in present times, he said.

Emphasising upon the need to work together for overcoming the shortcomings so as to attain one's goal in life, he said unless unity and discipline was made the cardinal principle and a mechanism created to check the wrong doings.

Director of Brahma Kumari Centres for North East states Brahma Kumari Sheela highlighted the Swarnim Bharat Yuva Padayatra and said this is the third one to be flagged off from NE region which will culminate at Guwahati on October 12.

A large number of participants including CRPF, ITBP, Police officials, NSS volunteers, Scouts and Guides, guests and padayatris were present on the occasion.
