Dubai's non-oil direct trade reaches $41 bn

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Dubai's non-oil direct trade reached 41 billion dollars in the first half of 2006, an increase of 8.3 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

The first half exports registered a 55.3 per cent jump and totalled 2.3 billion dollars, while imports rose by 9.9 per cent to 27.9 billion dollars.

India and Pakistan head the list of Dubai's export markets, while China and India were the main sources of imports.

Dubai's exports and re-exports in the first six months of 2006 were worth over 24.7 billion dollars. Exports were valued at around 13.9 billion dollars and re-exports 10.9 billion dollars, a release issued by Dubai Tourism Commerce Marketing said.
