Digvijay showers praise on Rahul Gandhi

Jalandhar, Sep 21 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today praised party MP Rahul Gandhi and described him as ''the finest and a very promising young leader'' in the country.

However, over Mr Gandhi's role during the next assembly elections in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, Mr Singh said that party president Sonia Gandhi could only take a decision in this regard.

Over a question about election tours of Congress central leaders, including Mr Gandhi, in Punjab, Mr Singh said that state leadership would chalk out a programme and would send it to the high command for approval.
