Digvijay, Poorna win U-16 titles in Talent series

Chandigarh, Sep 21 (UNI) Digvijay Singh Mehta of Himachal Pradesh and Poorna of Chandigarh claimed the boys and girls under-16 singles titles respectively, in the Monsanto AITA Talent Series at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.

In the boys singles final, giant-killer Digvijay Singh beat Tejvansh Singh of Punjab 7-6 (3), 6-0.

It was an all-Chandigarh affairs in the girls under-16 singles final. Poorna defeated Prabhamrit Kaur in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to wear the crown.

Boys Under-12 (doubles): Ajay Yadav and Digvijay Singh Naruka (Chd) bt Ankit Goyal (Dli) andRishab Dev (Chd) 6-4, 6-3.

Boys Under-16 (doubles): Chandam Shaolin (Chd) and Akshay Ahuja (Har) bt Ashwani Kumar and Akshat Joshi (Chd) 6-2, 6-4.

Girls Under-16 (doubles): Noor Paul and Roop Saran Rihal bt Ankita Singh abd Poorna (Chd) 6-3, 7-5.

Boys Under-12: Ajay Yadav (Chd) bt Pankaj Kumar (Chd) 6-1, 6-2.

Boys Under-16: Digvijay Singh Mehta (HP) bt Tejvansh Singh (Pb) 7-6 (3), 6-0.

Girls Under-12: Parminder Kaur (Chd) bt Bhavika Wadhwan (Chd) 6-1, 6-0.

Girls Under-16: Poorna (Chd) bt Prabhamrit Kaur (Chd) 6-3, 6-2.
