Cong hatching conspiracy to bring down K'taka Govt: Yediyurappa
Bangalore, Sep 21 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today alleged that senior Congress leaders in the State were hatching a conspiracy to throw out Governor T N Chaturvedi and then bring down the seven-month-old JD(S)-BJP coalition Government.
Speaking to reporters after attending a function at pharma major Biocon here, he said the State Government had authentic information on how these Congress leaders were mounting pressure on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to replace the Governor with a man who would act according to their dictates.
However, their evil designs would be defeated by the people, he exuded confidence.
''I hereby appeal to Dr Singh not to yield to the Congress leaders' pressure,'' Mr Yediyurappa said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the Government was all set to take up many developmental works, including the much- delayed Kalasa Banduri Nala irrigation project. ''Frustrated with our good efforts, the Congress leaders are trying to pull down the Government,'' he alleged.
