CM consoles farmer over phone, assures help

Hyderabad, Sep 21 (UNI) Concerned over the plight of farmers, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today talked to a flood victim over telephone and assured him of governmental aid.

On being informed by his staff that Chilukuri Babu Rao, a farmer from Nellipaka village in Khammam district was on the line, Dr Reddy listened to his woes and assured him that the government would come to his rescue.

The recent flood had destroyed crop in one-and-a-half acre land of Chilakuri Babu.

Dr Reddy told the farmer that instructions were already given to the district officials to distribute relief money on a war-footing, without waiting for further orders.
