CISF, CRPF, BSF, Corps of Signals reach semis

Faridkot, Sep 21 (UNI) CRPF beat Cenral Railways 1-0, while CISF overpowered Indian Air Force, Chandigarh with a similar margin to reach the semifinals along with the Corps of Signals and BSF, Jalandhar at the Baba Farid Gold Cup Hockey Tournament here today.

The Corps of Signals overcame Rail Coah Factory (RCF), Kapurthala 7-6 in a tie-breaker, while BSF beat EME, Jalandhar 2-1 in their respective quarterfinals.

CISF will now meet BSF in the first semifinal, while the Corps of Signal will take on the challenge from strong contenders CRPF tomorrow for a placing in the title clash.

The clash between the Corps of Signal and RCF witnessed interesting movements in the stipulated 70-minute time period which ended in a 2-2 draw. The match was finally decided through a tie-breaker which went in favour of the Corps of Signal 7-6.
