CCEA approves Adirayala Shaft Project of Singareni Collieries Co
New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved sanctioning of Adirayala Shaft Project of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, (SCCL) for a coal production capacity of 2.144 million tonnes per year.
CCEA also approved the net capital requirement of Rs 212.34 crore (after accounting for the revenues projected to be generated during construction of the project and the related capitalisation) and for a total outlay of Rs 452.30 crore, an official spokesman here said.
Flexibility in the implementation stage within the approved cost estimates to respond to improvements in technology and equipments which would result in improved profitability amd productivity parameters, was also approved by the CCEA.
Through the project, 2.144 million tonnes of coal would be produced which will meet the demand of NTPC Ramagundam.
Adirayala Shaft Project is located in Karimnagar District of Andhra Pradesh. SCCL is a PSU owned by Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Centre with a shareholding of 51:49.
At present, SCCL has 55 underground and 11 Opencast operating mines and these mines have produced 36.40 million tonnes of coal during 2005-06, the spokesman added.
