Cabinet approves budgetary support of Rs 80 cr for HSCL, BRL

New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) The Cabinet today approved budgetary support of Rs 80.84 crore for liquidation of outstanding statutory dues and salaries in loss making central public sector enterprises the Hindustan Steel Works Construction Limited (HSCL) and the Bharat Refractories Limited (BRL).

It also approved financial assistance of Rs 314.10 crore to ITI Ltd for meeting immediate salary dues, an official spokesperson said after a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.

He said the liquidation of outstanding dues in HSCL and BRL, both under the Steel Ministry, will be from January 1, 1992 to August 31, 2005.

''It would mitigate the hardships of the employees thereby motivating them for better output and prepare them to achieve the goal of revival for the company,'' he added.

Employees of ITI will be able to receive their salaries before Dusshera, he said.
