BJS to fight elections on 'Ram-Roti' slogan
Tikamgarh, MP, Sep 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti president Uma Bharti today said her party would fight Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections on the slogan of 'Ram Roti' and would help in formation of central and state governments.
During her first rally in her home district after forming new party, Ms Bharti said there was political instability in the country.
She alleged the BJP and the Congress had failed to fulfill poll promises and come up to expectations of people.
Commenting upon severe drought situation in Bundelkhand region, including Tikamgarh district, Ms Bharti said she had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary demanding waiving off irrigation electricity bills of the past three years, prevent recovery of bank loans and waiving past two years' interest.
The fiery sanyasin said she would submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister next month demanding an inquiry by an independent agency into the alleged irregularities in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and other central schemes.
She accused the state government of harassing people of her party. She added that she was being insulted by not adhering to protocol fixed for an ex-Chief Minister.
