''Beefy'' joins ''Boonie'' to spice up Ashes battle

Sydney, Sep 21 (UNI) Chatterbox David Boon will be joined by a pint-sized Ian Botham in a war of words with Foster's introducing the former England captain as the new face of its popular talking doll.

The Herld Sun reported that Boonie would be joined by Beefy before the coming Ashes series and the former Aussie opener and the ex-England captain would match each other in verbal volleys to further spice up the pre-Ashes hype.

''In a new take on the old talking Boonie, the dolls will argue and respond to one another's wry comments,'' the daily said.

During the 2005-06 ODI series, Foster's gave away about 200,000 talking Boonie dolls with Victoria Bitter slabs and Beefy is also expected to match the popularity when an injury-depleted England reaches here in November to defend the urn they had snatched at home.
