Auto thieves gang busted

New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) Police today claimed to have unearthed a gang involved in the theft of luxury cars with the arrest of three people from South Delhi.

Nasir (33), Rashid (28) and Nafees Baig (30), all residents of Meerut, were arrested from Lajpat Nagar on September 19.

Police said it had solved 36 cases of auto theft with the arrest and seized an assembly line used for tampering with the engine numbers and chassis numbers of the stolen cars.

Police also recovered five luxury cars from their possession.
