Arunachal sign MoUs with three power giants
Itanagar, Sep 21 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh today signed MoU with the country's three power giants to develop seven hydro-electric power projects of 15,000 in the state.
The deal was inked between the state government and National Hydro Electric power Corporation (NHPC), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and North East Electrical Power Corporation (NEEPCO) in presence of Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, power secretary R V Sahi, joint secretary A K Kutty and Chief Minister Gegong Apang.
Out of the seven projects, MoU was signed for three projects with NHPC worth Rs 3172.37 crore and annual energy generation capacity of 3156.10 million units (MU).
While Tawang I and II projects located would be on ownership basis, the Dibang multipurpose project at Lower Dibang Valley district would be a joint venture of the state government and the NHPC.
The state government also signed MoUs with NTPC for executing two projects in the state namely 4000 MW Etalin project worth Rs 14069.14 crore to produce annual energy of 16071.60 mu.
Two projects namely Kameng I in East Kameng district and Pare in Papum Pare district have been handed over to NEEPCO.
