Army 'A' trounces Bombay Gymkhana 17-5 in semi-finals

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Former champions Bombay Gymkhana lost 5-17 to new-comers Army 'A' in the semi-finals of the 73rd All India Hutch Rugby Tournament, played at the CCFC Ground, in Kolkata today.

A release here today said in the clash for the title, Army 'A' will take on Chennai, who outplayed Future Hope of Kolkata 36-0 in the second semi-final match.

For Army 'A', Dalvinder Singh scored two tries and Gurpreet Singh made two conversions and Sujoy Lama made one penalty kick conversion. For the Bombay Gymkhana, Muffdal Indorwala made a sole try.

In the second semi-final match, Chennai totally outplayed Kolkata's Future Hope team. Nanda scored two tries, while Lahiru and Mohan made one try each. Emil Vertazarian scored one penalty kick and converted four.

Brief scores (semi-finals): Chennai 36 (Nanda 2 tries, Moorthy 1 try, Lahiru 1 try, Mohan 1 try, Emil 1 penalty kick and 4 conversions) bt Future Hope 0.

Army 'A' 17 (Dalvinder Singh 2 tries, Sujoy Lama 1 penalty kick conversion, Gurpeet Singh 2 conversions) bt Bombay Gymkhana 5 (Mufdal Indorewala 1 try), the release added.
