Apex Judges' Orderly, Secretarial Allowance Goes Up

New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today announced a Re 10,000 monthly raise in an allowance retired Supreme Court Judges receive for engaging an orderly and secretarial help.

The Cabinet decided to amend the Supreme Court Judges Rules, 1959 allowing Rs 14,000/- per month to retired SC Judges in place of a Re 4,000/- per month allowance for engaging an orderly and defraying secretarial assistance on contract basis.

''This will enable the retired Judges of the Supreme Court to lead a dignified retired life,'' a Cabinet brief said.
