ABVP to cooperate in CID inquiry
Bhopal, Sep 21 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today assured that it will cooperate in the CID inquiry into Ujjain's Madhav College Professor H S Sabharwal's death in student violence on August 26.
ABVP General Secretary K N Raghunandan told reporters here today that the Parishad was ready for any inquiry by the government in this matter and will provide all possible cooperation to investigation agencies.
Accusing the Congress of playing politics over the issue, he said action must be taken against Congress and NSUI workers in view of their role behind Prof Sabharwal's death.
He also demanded investigation into the role of the college principal, college management and other concerned parties in the matter.
Mr Raghunandan said the ABVP will continue to demand withdrawal of false cases against it in the matter.
Replying to a question, he said the ABVP was trying that one ABVP worker, who is absconding, surrendered.
He expressed concern over deteriorating standard of education and absence of employment-oriented education.
Demanding action against vice-chancellors for involvement in immoral activities, he said six cases regarding involvement of vice-chancellors in immoral activities were pending.
A statewide agitation was launched today and rallies organised in seven places -- Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, Rewa and Gwalior -- over deteriorating standards of education.
After the completion of rallies, a memorandum will be submitted to the divisional commissioner in this regard.
