WebEx India and Indiss to partner

Bangalore, Sep 20 (UNI) WebEx Communications, the leading provider of online meeting applications in the world, today announced that it has signed up with the Chennai-based e-learning company Indicom Software and Services (Indiss) to provide universities in India with online technical training courses to help them reach out to a much larger student community.

The joint solution, based on WebEx Training Centre, would provide hands-on experience for students across universities in India, starting with Tamil Nadu. The joint offering would also allow varsities to conduct online tests, WebEx said in a release here.

In their bid to remain competitive and innovative, there was a perceived need by universities to reach out to a much larger student base, especially for courses that were technical and require hands-on training. The aim of such initiatives was to make students industry-ready by providing them with quality education and equally superior faculty, the release said.

With the WebEx-based solution, universities would achieve economies of scale and tap potential students in remote areas as well, without having a significant bearing on investments, it added.
