Vibrant Gujarat Navratri Mahotsav set to open on Sep 23

Gandhinagar, Sep 20 (UNI) A grand inaugural ceremony for the 'Vibrant Gujarat Navratri Mahotsav 2006' is all set to be held at the helipad ground here at a specially erected stage on September 23.

About 100 artistes from countries like Israel, Indonesia, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka will participate showcasing their art and culture. Besides artistes from Chhatisgarh, Asom, Manipur, Kerala, Hariyana, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal and Mizoram will also showcase their talent, according to an official statement here.

The Raas-Garba programme is open to public from September 24 to October 1, 2006. Theme Pavillion, exhibition and more than 150 stalls will sell handicraft and handloom items. In the theme pavillion, various subjects like medical tourism, heritage tourism, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, religious tourism, Sardar Patel Project, rural-tribal tourism, cottage industry-Gujarat, Gujarat tourism will be displayed.

''Swadotsav'' would be special attraction with refreshment stalls selling dishes of various regions of the state. delicacies from Kutch, South Gujarat and North Gujarat will be available to the visitors to taste.
