TRS Chief advises party cadres to help flood victims
Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti(TRS) President and former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today advised his party cadres to attend to the needs of the flood victims in the Telangana region.
Talking to newspersons here before leaving for a tour of the worst-affected Karimnagar district in the Telangana region, he said party leaders and activists should tour the flood-affected areas in the region and attend to the needs of the poor.
Mr Rao would be touring Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Sircilla and Jammikunta areas of Karimnagar district during the next two days.
He said he would suggest to the Government about the steps to be taken to provide relief to the affected, after completing his tour.
When asked, if he had timed his tour to coincide the visit of AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh and in-charge of Andhra Pradesh party affairs, Mr Rao said it was not the time to discuss about politics.
Mr Rao, who had resigned not only from the Union Cabinet, but also his Lok Sabha membership from Karimnagar, threw a challenge to the Congress MPs and MLAs to resign their seats, and seek fresh mandate, as they had won with TRS support.
Meanwhile, Congress MPs from the Telangana and Andhra regions locked horns and made allegations against each other. To resolve the problem, Mr Arjun Singh flew here and warned Congressmen not to make statements on the Telangana issue as party president Sonia Gandhi was seized of it.
