Train hits tractor at unmanned crossing; three killed

Varanasi, Sep 20 (UNI) At least three persons were killed and six others injured when a speeding train hit a tractor-trolley at an unmanned crossing in the neighbouring Ghazipur district this morning.

Police said the accident took place in the Rawal Nasibpur area under Saidpur police station around 1100 hrs when a tractor-trolley was hit by the Bareilly-Varanasi passenger train at an unmanned crossing.

While three of the 10 occupants of the vehicle were killed instantaneously, six others were seriously injured. They were rushed to a local hospital.

The train was likely to leave for Varanasi shortly.
