Three women die as jeep falls into canal

Bhawanipatna, Sep 20 (UNI) Three women were killed when a jeep they were travelling in fell into the left canal of the Indravati Dam near Rengsapalli village today.

Police said after the jeep fell into the canal, villagers rushed to the site and managed to rescue nine people from the canal. Three women, however, drowned in the canal.

The people, including the three women, were returning from Dharmagarh hospital and proceeding towards Sardhapur village when the mishap took place.

The bodies of the deceased were later retrieved from the canal, police said.
