Sensex trades 20 pts up in noon trade
Mumbai, Sep 20 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) has gained 20.36 points today to reach 11,990 points in the afternoon trade, as 30-index oscillated 179 points touching a high of 12,012.43 points and a low of 11,833.61 points.
The oil and refinery shares have edged higher today as the crude price saw a huge decline in the past few weeks. Crude price came down to US dollar 61 per barrel mark.
The major sectors which are still below par in performance are health care index down by 0.26 per cent, Bankex down 0.59 per cent and FMCG down by 0.02 per cent.
Major gainers on the index are Reliance Communications, NTPC, L&T, Tata Steel, Maruti Udyog, Hero Honda, Satyam Computers, Bharti Airtel, ONGC and Grasim Industries - all up from 0.52 to 2.67 per cent.
Besides, the losers are - BHEL, SBI, Cipla, Dr Reddy's Lab, ICICI and Ranbaxy Lab - all down from 0.09 to 0.48 per cent.
