Rupee further gains seven paise, closes at Rs 45.96/97/USD
Mumbai, Sep 20: Strong FII and FDI flow, alongwith the strengthening of yen against US dollar led the Indian Rupee gain eleven paise to close at Rs 45.96/97 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.08 per USD, a money market trader said.
Earlier, the Rupee opened at Rs 46.08/10 per US Dollar and in the mid morning session traded at 46.05/06/US Dollar.
RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.05/US Dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.11 per US Dollar on Tuesday.
The six month forward premia was fixed low at 1.21 per cent and the one year forward premia was also fixed flat at 1.25 per cent.
Rupee performance against other currencies also improved, against Euro, Rupee closed up at Rs 58.19 (58.22), against Pound Sterling it closed at Rs 86.44 (86.49) and against Yen it closed up at Rs 39.14 (39.15).
