Principal arrested for raping student

Betual, MP, Sep 20: A school principal was arrested on the charge of raping a 15-year-old student in this district's Sarra village, police said today.

Ganpati Maywad sexually assaulted the victim, a class IX student, few months back when nobody was at her home.

A police complaint stated that the principal again raped the student some days later and threatened to kill her, if she disclosed about the assault to anybody.

Meanwhile, the victim became pregnant. On being asked, she revealed the truth to the family members.

The accused was arrested on September 18.
