No new self-financing technical colleges in Kerala: Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 20 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today said the state government had no plan to start more Self-Financing Technical Institutions in the state.
Replying to the questions asked by Mr Varkala Kahar (Cong), he said a decision in this regard would be taken only after a detailed study on the need of more new technical institutions in the state.
He said the government had in principle decided not to allot more new self- financing colleges and new courses in this academic year in the state and this had been informed to the four University Registrars.
Mr Baby said the state government and various universities had received six and nine applications, respectively to start self- financing technical colleges for MBA, MCA, Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Engineering courses.
