New Thai elections may take a year - coup leader

BANGKOK, Sep 20 (Reuters) New Thai elections are unlikely before next September as it will take that long to reform the constitution, coup leader General Sonthi Boonyaratglin said today.

''It will take a year to draft a new constitution,'' he told a news conference. Elections would follow once the new constitution was agreed by a referendum, he added.
