Naxal killed in encounter

Jagdalpur, Sep 20 (UNI) A naxal, carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head, was killed in a police encounter at Jangla area in Chhattisgarh's Dantewara district, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Ratanlal Dagi said following a tip-off that naxals were present at a hill in Jangla area, police reached the spot last evening.

As the ultras opened fire, police retaliated killing Manglu Lekam. A gun was seized from the spot.

He said another naxali, Lekam Munna, was arrested while he was trying to escape.
