Monsoon rains continue in HP
Shimla, Sep 20 (UNI) Light to moderate rains lashed several mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh for the second day today, plummeting temperatures in the tribal districts of the state, according to the met office.
Isolated places in Kullu, Kangra, Mandi and Bilaspur districts of the state received light to moderate rains till 0830 hrs today.
The met office said RL 1700, an observatory in the Beas Catchment area in Bilaspur district of the state was the wettest place receiving 65.9 mm of rain followed by 42.2 mm rain at Ghamroor in Kangra district and 22 mm rain at Dhundi in Kullu district.
Pandoh in Mandi district, Palampur in Kangra district, Solang Nulluh and Bhang Manali, both in Kullu district, each recorded 20 mm rainfall during the last 24 hrs, weather officials informed.
Dharamshala in Kangra district recorded 18.4 mm of rain, while Bangana in Una district received 16 mm followed by 12.6 mm rain at Bhuntar in Kullu district.
The sky over Shimla and other adjoining areas remained cloudy for the major part of the day, while receiving light showers in the afternoon today, causing day temperatures to fall.
The state capital recorded a night temperature of 15.3 degrees, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded minimum temperatures of 19.1 and 16.4 degree Celsius, the met office said.
