Monsoon active over Coastal Karnataka

Bangalore, Sep 20 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.

Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Kundapur, Siddapura, Kumta 5 each; Bantwal, Mani 4 each; Belthangadi, Dharmasthala, Lakkavalli 3 each; Ankola, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Shirali, Mangalore, Udupi, Khanapur, Londa, Navalgund, Koppal, Bhagamandala, Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Jayapura, Kalasa, Mudigere, Sringeri, Sandur, Molkalmuru 2 each.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Kodagu districts; at a few places over Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Hassan, Bellary districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the State.

Heavy Rainfall warning: Heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy.
