Mizo police busts liqour factories

Aizawl, Sep 20 (UNI) Mizoram police has destroyed a number of local liqour factories in Saiha town as part of anti-drugs and alcohol drive last night.

Police sources here today said that Saiha police launched the operation against drug in the area and destroyed about ten factories of country made liqour but nobody was arrested in this connection.

Police has also recovered one 9mm pistol from nearby jungle in Saiha town.

In a seperate operation, Aizawl Forests Division personnel nabbed a teak smuggler, identified as Lalremruata of Tuirial Airfield locality of the capital town.

Forest Range Officer Lalfela said the forests guards caught the smuggler red-handed with 160 cubic feet of teak wood worth Rs 41,265 today near the plantation.
