Metal prices decline in line with LME
Mumbai, Sep 20 (UNI) Metal prices declined in line with London Metal Exchange on lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.
In the ferrous segment (per quintal), brass cutting, copper heavy and aluminium utensils eased by Rs 500, Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on thin buying support.
In the non-ferrous category (per quintal), copper wire bars, aluminium ingots and lead ingots drifted lower by Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on increased offers by stockists.
Tin slab fell by Rs three per kg on poor demand.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,700, Copper utensils - Rs 32,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,600.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,600, Zinc slab - Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 6,700, Tin slab - Rs 518 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,640 (per kg).
