Lt Gen Manbir assumes charge as GOC 3 Corps

Imphal, Sep 20 (UNI) VSM Lieutenant General Manbir Singh Dadwal has taken over as 3 Corps General Officer Commanding(GOC) from SM VSM Lieutenant General Zameer Uddin Shah, who will be taking over as Deputy Chief of Army Staff in New Delhi.

The 3 Corps is looking after the worst insurgency affected states of Manipur and Nagaland.

Lieutenant General Dadwal was first commissioned in the Dogra Regiment on 14 June 1970.

He had taken part in 1971 Operations as a young officer and commanded a Mountain Division in J&K.

He was appointed Additional Direction General of Military Intelligence in March 2005.

General's wife Reeta Dadwal would be the President of Spear Army Wives Welfare Association, a PIB (Defence Wing) press release stated.
