Life sentence for murder accused
| Ratlam, MP, Sep 20: A district court here has sentenced one person to life imprisonment and fined him Rs 5,000 on the charge of murdering a nine-year-old boy in 2004.
According to prosecution, accused Vardichand (25) took Pintu, belonging to Khojankheda-village, for taking bath in a river and killed him in order to loot his 50-gm silver chain. District and Sessions Judge M K Mudgal delivered the verdict yesterday. Meanwhile, Special Judge Abhay Kumar sentenced Mandaur-resident Ashok Meena (35) to ten years rigorous imprisonment on the charge of smuggling heroin and fined him Rs one lakh, failing which the term will be extended by one year.
