Jammu, Sep 20 (UNI) Security forces today nabbed a wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant involved in the serial grenade blasts in Doda this year, police sources said.

Javed Sofi (code: Nadeem), resident of Dhak Mohalla (Doda), was wanted in five serial grenade blasts -- including one on the BJP protest rally in Doda -- wherein two people were killed and 67 others wounded, police sources told UNI.

''He was on his way to Doda to commit mischief,'' they said, adding that he was the sixth militant to be arrested in the case of serial grenade blasts.

Other five LeT operatives had already been arrested in the first week last month.

During interrogation, sources said, the militant revealed that he was associated with a strong network of Over Ground Workers (OGWS) in the area.

In the recent past, Sofi had told the interrogators that he had passed on several big consignments of communication equipment and cash to the militants, including the self-styled LeT district Commander Shabir Ahmed Itoo (code:Yasir), a resident of Gundna, sources said.

He revealed that he had delivered 23 wireless sets, one satellite phone and Rs 3,000 in cash to militants in three phases via OGWS.

Sofi also disclosed that he had purchased 18 SIM cards, 20 mobile phone sets, a large number of recharge coupons and other accessories like some special shoe from the market and supplied them to militants via OGWS.

Interrogation is still on, sources said.
