Lawyers resort to stone pelting, 6 injured

Mirzapur, Sep 20 (UNI) At least six people sustained wounds after lawyers and collectorate officials resorted to stone pelting in the district court here today.

Agitated lawyers were on strike since last three days over delay in construction of their chambers.

However, tension gripped the area after collectorate officials refused to stall work like lawyers.

The rival groups attacked each other with stones. Some furniture was also destroyed.

Later, police reached the spot and managed to pacify the mob.

PAC jawans have been deployed to maintain peace.
