Konkan Railway to complete skybus project by next year : Lalu

Margao, Goa, Sep 20 (UNI) Impressed by the work on the unique 'skybus rail project', now at an advanced stage of demonstration at Margao railway station, Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today directed the officials of the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited to complete the project by 2007.

The minister, who had the feel of the project, was later briefed about various developments about it for which the railways had provided the initial investment. KRC Managing Director Dr K K Gokhale and other officials accompanied him.

The minister also inspected the patented 'anti-collision devices' which have been installed all over the country to prevent rail mishaps. The devices had been designed and developed by the KRC engineers.

Lalu later announced Rs 5 lakh for the corporation for maintaining cleanliness at Margao railway station.

Lalu along with a delegation of MPs attached with the parliamentary consultative committee was here yesterday to review various developments.
