Indian Diamond Institute acquires land for expansion

Surat, Sep 20 (UNI) Indian Diamond Institute (IDI), which trains students in diamond polishing, grading, and jewellery designing, has acquired 2000 sq meters of land in the city, for further expansion, sources said.

The newly acquired, land is near Delhi Public School, in Vesu.

Acording to sources, IDI has ambitious plans and want to establish an annexe to its already existing institute in Varachha in the city.

The 11 crore project will have state-of-the art equipment in jewellery designing and polishing diamonds.

IDI circles hope the new campus will attract many students including those from foreign countries.

Sources said that state and Central governments have already offered their assistance for the new venture.
