IAS officer evicted in MP

Gwalior, Sep 20 (UNI) A senior IAS officer who illegally occupied a government resthouse room for over a decade, was today evicted by the district administration and Public Works officials.

The action against Mr Vinay Shukla was led by Addl District Magistrate R K Jain whose team first removed the officer's belongings and then Mr Shukla was sent to his brother's place at Delhi.

''A sum of Rs 6,35,107 is to be recovered as pending rent,'' said Executive Engineer (Public Works) G R Gujare.

On December 11, 1996, Mr Shukla assumed charge as Member (Revenue Circle) here. He was later transferred but did not vacate the room.
