Gujarat VHP hails Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill

Ahmedabad, Sep 20 (UNI) The state unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has hailed the passage of the Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill in the state Assembly yesterday.

In a statement, Gujarat VHP president Jaydeep Patel and working president Dilipbhai Trivedi said conversions take place under guile, coercion, and inducements by taking advantage of poverty and illiteracy of the tribals. The State Government has rightly introduced the bill to stop such conversions.

The tribals will stand protected from such forces which are flush with foreign funds, they said.
