Gang hacks accused in double murder case to death

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 20 (UNI) A 29-year-old youth, accused in a double murder case, was hacked to death by an unidentified four-member gang at Tiruverambur on the outskirts of the city last night.

According to police, the victim Jayakumar, prime accused in a murder case along with his friends were taking alcohol at TASMAC, a government-run Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMUL) liqour shop when the gang armed with lethal weapons came in a car and attacked them.

When Jayakumar and his three friends ran for cover, the gang members chased them. The desperados chopped the fore arms and inflicted several injuries on Jayakumar, who died on the spot. The three, who suffered cut injuries were rushed to a private hospital.

Previous enmity was suspected to be the motive behind the murder, Tiruvembur police investigating the case said.
