Four LeT terrrorists get police remand till Oct one

Ahmedabad, Sep 20 (UNI) The four suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, arrested by the Gujarat Crime Branch police over the past two days, have been remanded into police custody till October one.

The four - Mohammed Khalid, Ilyas Memon, Maulvi Kari Muffidul and Siraj Ansari, who were part of a sleeper module, were presented before the Metropolitan Magistrate D R Bhatt last evening.

The police had sought remand for 14 days, as they wanted to interrogate them about the spread of their network in the State. The judge granted them 12 days' remand.

Crime Branch Police had seized a computer alongwith a large stock of VCDs and jehadi literature from them.

While Siraj and Illyas Memon are from Ahmedabad, Kari Muffidul was a senior cleric at the Tarakeswar madrassa in Surat. Khalid Kashmiri, described by the police as ''the prized catch,'' is brother of Imran Kashmiri, who is the key person responsible for spreading LeT modules in Gujarat.
