Formulate comprehensive tourism policy: APTOA
Itanagar, Sep 20 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operators Association (APTOA) has urged the state government to formulate a comprehensive and sustainable policy involving the public and private sectors to boost the state's tourism.
Submitting a memorandum to Chief Minister Gegong Apang, the association said festivals like Buddha Mahotsava, Siang Darshan should marked as mega events in the policy.
They also demanded lease for tourist infrastructures like lodges, reception centres, cafeterias and wayside amenities and insisted to establish a tourism village here.
They stressed the need for a periodical coordination meeting of the department with APTOA.
The organisation suggested the government to open new tourist circuits to promote cultural and adventure tourism in the state.
