FCI official caught taking bribe
Jabalpur, Sep 20 (UNI) A Food Corporation of India (FCI) official was caught red-handed by CBI sleuths while accepting bribe from a rice mill owner for clearing his dues.
Acting on a complaint by Gondia-based rice mill owner Prakash Jaiswal, the CBI raided the FCI's regional office here yesterday and caught A K Yadav of the accounts department while taking bribe of Rs 2,500.
Mr Jaiswal had transported rice from Balaghat and submitted a bill of Rs 2.41 lakh at the FCI regional office.
However, Mr Jaiswal was paid Rs 76,405 and his security deposit of Rs one lakh was returned.
Yadav demanded a bribe of Rs 2,500 from Mr Jaiswal for the payment of the remaining amount.
