ECoR to run Puja special train

Bhubaneswar, Sep 20 (UNI) The East Coast Railways (ECoR) has decided to run yet another pair of Durga Puja special train between Puri and Sealdah from September 27 to October 12 to clear extra rush of passengers.

A ECoR release issued here today said the 0351 Sealdah-Puri Special train via Midnapur, Adra, Asansol and Burdhaman will leave Shaldah at 1225 hrs on every Wednesday and arrive Puri at 0355 hrs on the following day.

In the return direction, the 0352 Puri-Sealdah special train will leave Puri at 1400 hrs and arrive Sealdah at 0620 hrs on the following day.

The special train will have one AC-2 tier, one AC-3 tier, 9 sleeper class, 3 general second class and as many guard cum luggage vans in it's composition.

It will have stoppages at Sakhigopal, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur, Midnapur, Bishnupur, Bankura, Adra, Burnpur, Asansol, Durgapur and Burdhaman between Puri and Sealdah.

The ECoR has already decided to run 7 pairs of special trains which will have 50 trips in both directions and will carry more than 44,000 additional passengers to clear heavy rush during Durga Puja.

Apart from special trains between Puri and Sealdah, other special trains between Bhubaneswar and Chennai, Howrah and Puri, Howrah and Chennai, Howrah and Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad and Guwahati and Yeshvantpur would also run in different nominated days, the release added.
