Customs revenue up by 31 pc in Bangalore Zone
Bangalore, Sep 20 (UNI) The Commissionerate of Customs, Bangalore Zone, has realised Customs revenue of Rs 1,889.81 crore during the current financial year upto August 31, up by 31.85 per cent compared to last year's Rs 1,433.34 crore during the same period.
Disclosing this to newspersons here today, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Bangalore Zone, Heera Radhakrishnan said the target for the Zone, which included Bangalore, Mangalore and Cochin, this year was Rs 4,540 crore.
She said that in Bangalore, revenue collection was Rs 1,230.57 crore up to September 15 during the current fiscal, as against Rs 776.31 crore during the same period last year. While the target set for Mangalore was Rs 590 crore and Cochin Rs 1,350 crore, the collections up to August 31 was Rs 209.47 crore and Rs 570.63 crore respectively. In Mangalore, the collection was 5.78 per cent less as compared to the previous year and in Cochin, it was 12.57 per cent more.
