Congress MPs apologise to each other
Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) Congress MP L Rajagopal from Vijayawada in Andhra Region and S Satyanarayana, MP from Siddipet in Telangana today apologised to each other for emotional public statements they made in the recent past.
Talking to newspersons after a meeting with the AICC General Secretary and incharge of state party affairs Digvijay Singh, who was here to resolve the dispute between the Congress MPs, which was taking regional communal turn, Mr Rajagopal said Mr Satyanarayana was very close to him and he had no hesitation about tendering an apology to him.
He was only offended by the intervention of the TRS in the internal affairs of Congress, he said.
He objected to the statment of Mr Satyanarayana that he had won the Lok Sabha seat with the support of TRS and said every Congress leader had won only with the Congress flag, Mr Rajagopal said.
Mr Satyanarayana, seriously objected to the statment of Mr Rajagopal and said it amounted to insulting the people of Telangana region and his communisty (SC).
He alleged high caste Congress leaders from the Andhra region were making derogatory remarks against Telagnana and the oppressed communities.
Earlier, Madhu Yashki Goud, MP from Nizamabad and NRI turned politician also expressed strong Telangana sentiments and advised the Congress to honour the feeling of the people of Telangana.
Mr Rajgopal tendered an unconditional apology to Mr Satyanarayana after his meeting with Digvijay Singh. Reciprocating, Mr Satyanarayana said Mr Rajgopal would do well to apologise to the people of Telangana and his community also.
