CBI completes evidence in Ajit Sarkar murder case
Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) The CBI has completed its evidence in the sensitive murder case of the CPM leader Ajit Sarkar.
The cross examination of the 61st and final witness of the CBI was completed in the court yesterday.
CBI had produced M S Khariyat, currently posted as an additional superitendent of police at New Delhi branch of interpol as its last witness. Mr Khariyat was the chief investigating officer in the case.
RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, former MLA Rajan TiwarI and one Anil Yadav were facing the trial in the case. Mr Yadav, is lodged in Tihar jail at New Delhi while Mr Tiwari,MLA, and the third accused are in Beur jail of Patna.
The court has fixed October 9 the next date for recording the statement of accused in the case.
Mr Sarkar (MLA) was shot dead in Purnea on June 14, 1998.
