ANGRAU's diamond jubilee fete
Hyderabad, Sept 20 (UNI) Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU) Dean M Sudharshan Reddy today said the university was first in the state and second in South India to start PG programmes in agriculture in 1958 and Phd programme during 1975.
Addressing the press here in connection with 'diamond jubilee celebrations' of the university, Dr Reddy said ANGRAU produced 4,575 BSc (Agriculture) graduates and 2,149 MSc (Agri) post-graduates since its establishment in 1946 while 476 students completed their doctoral studies.
Special programmes at PG level like MSc (Biotechnology) and MSc (Environmental Sciences) were also started for the first time by the university in the state in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
He said its students occupied important positions in academic, scientific and political fields at national level.
