"Aahar Chennai 2006" fair launched

Chennai, Sep 20 (UNI) ''Aahar Chennai 2006'', a four-day fair showcasing the Food and Hospitality Industry, was launched here today.

The fair, the maiden one in the South, was organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), after organising 21 such editions in New Delhi.

The launch of the Chennai edition at the Chennai Trade Centre here was an acknowledgement of the growing potential of processed food and associated sectors in the Southern Region in raising the profile and quantum of India's exports in this priority areas of the economy.

The fair was being organised with the support of Ministry of Food Processing Industries and more than 80 leading Indian companies were showcasing their products for discerning buyers from different parts of the country.

The fair encompasses all aspects of food and hospitality industry with focus on air and water pollution control equipment and accessories.
