550 income units in Kupwara

Srinagar, Sep 20: Over 550 income generating units have been established in the frontier district of Kupwara, once the hub of militants.

An official spokesman said that units have been set up with an expenditure of Rs 10 crore.

He said under the Agriculture sector, 314 income generating units have been established involving Rs 6.08 crore, while under services sector 224 units have been set up at a cost of Rs 3.86 crore during the first quarter of the current fiscal.
